Jack White “taking a break” from performing live, announces intimate acoustic shows

Five US states will welcome in White for some $3 a ticket gigs.

Following his triumphant headline set at Coachella this past weekend, now’s a better time than any for Jack White to earn his break from touring. The former White Stripes frontman has declared plans to take a step back from live duties.

A press statement confirms that White will be “taking a break from performing live for a long period of time.” Before that, he’s announced plans to play five acoustic shows in separate US states, all of which he’s yet to visit on his current tour. Joined by Fats Kaplin, Lillie Mae Rische and Dominic Davis, he’s promising stripped-back, simple renditions of songs, all for the price of $3 a ticket.

Those cheap-as-chips tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis on the day of the show. Third Man will be announcing dates and details following White’s second Coachella set this weekend.
