Jack White to throw ‘first pitch’ for Detroit Tigers
He’ll mark the ceremonial start of a three-game series.

As confused about baseball as Americans (probably) are about cricket, we had to look this one up, but at the beginning of a baseball series, a celebrated person is usually invited to throw the ‘first pitch’ - a ceremonial event to officially mark the beginning.
Despite the lack of fun he appeared to be having at a Chicago Cubs game the other day, Jack White is to perform this duty for his home team, the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday, Third Man Records announced via Twitter.
As it also says, Third Man’s record shop on wheels - the Rolling Record Store - will also pay a visit to Comerica Park for the match against Chicago White Sox.
Jack White returns to the UK in November for a series of arena dates.
