Jamie Hewlett to release new art book, featuring unseen Gorillaz images
Co-founder of the project plans to document his last 25 years as an artist.
Jamie Hewlett - co-founder of Gorillaz alongside Damon Albarn - has announced plans to release his own art book, documenting his past 25 years creatively.
Works from his career so far will be compiled into a new edition, spanning 518 pages and containing “all my favourite stuff, including lots of unseen images.”
These unseen images are set to include previously unreleased Gorillaz shots and videos, as well as shots from his work on the 2008 Beijing Olympics animated intro
Recently, Hewlett has been previewing shots from the release. A couple of weeks back he tagged a Gorillaz shot (below) as “waiting”, which any serial straw-clutcher might deem as proof that the band are making a comeback. Damon Albarn hinted that new material would be on the way as soon as 2015.
Further details - including a title for the project - will be revealed shortly.
