Japandroids announce new live album ‘Massey Fucking Hall’
The duo’s twelve-track live album will be released digitally next month.
Vancouver duo Japandroids have announced plans to release a brand new live album, titled ‘Massey Fucking Hall’, after the Toronto venue in which it was recorded.
The record - which comes in at twelve tracks in length and features cuts from all three of their records - is due to be released digitally on 19th June, before a vinyl release will follow on 2nd October, via ANTI- Records. As a bit of a taster, the band have now shared the album’s first track, a live rendition of ‘Heart Sweats’, from their 2009 album ‘Post-Nothing’.
“We’ve always loved playing that one live,” drummer David Prowse says of the track’. “It’s just got a great sense of momentum and never fails to get me hyped. During that tour we were playing it second or third in the set. It consistently feels like the moment in the set where I just get that sense of ‘oh yeah we’re cooking now,’ and everything just locks in and we’re ripping through the rest of the set. All the nerves are gone and it’s the moment where we’re just locked in and totally in the zone.”
