Jay Som gets a (ski) lift in the video for ‘Baybee’

After taking us through the ‘Rush’ hour and letting us know just how many dogs there are in the world (hint: it’s a lot), Joy Som is back with another fuzzy cut from upcoming album ‘Everybody Works’. This time Melina Duterte has toned things down again, as latest single ‘Baybee’ is a slice of shimmering bedroom pop. Albeit a slice of bedroom pop that’s got some serious groove underpinning it. So where do you go to shoot a video for such a number? The snowy mountains? Okay then. Yep, director Charlotte Hornsby has literally taken Melina and a couple of furry-hatted dancers up the side of a mountain in a gondola, and since it’s a pretty long ride up there they decide to pass the time by dancing around and having a bit of a frolic. Sometimes there’s some serious Wham ‘Last Christmas’ vibes going on here, and it’s glorious. Watch the video for ‘Baybee’ below.
