Jay Z and Jack White have been giving personal thanks to TIDAL users

Since its controversial, star-studded relaunch two weeks back, TIDAL has been an instant source of criticism. But that hasn’t stopped Jay Z’s newly-acquired service from launching lots of exclusives and going for the jugular in taking on Spotify and the big guns.

And it turns out Jay Z’s also been reaching out to those who do have a TIDAL account, giving them a personal phone call to say thanks for their involvement. As Business Insider reports, the owner - and other stakeholders - have been ringing up those who are active on the service.

Roc Nation’s Vania Schlogel recalled an experience where Jay Z “called some of his fans and one of them made the funniest comment. He said ‘This is the best customer service call I’ve ever received!’”

Jack White is also said to have been getting involved - musicians have been using their own TIDAL accounts to track user activity and to see how their own records are performing.
