Jerkcurb unveils new track ‘Devils Catflap’

It’s the latest cut from his highly anticipated debut album.

With his debut album ‘Air Con Eden’ finally about to arrive on 13th September, Jacob Read - aka Jerkcurb - is sharing the latest dreamy number from it in the form of ‘Devils Catflap’.

“It started with a simple loop, a monotony of twinkling bells,” he explains. “I was astounded by the space formed by this rigid, repetitive pattern, like it had opened up a vast landscape. The guitar was composed around this as a way of exploring that space. The finger picking is a bit reminiscent of the American Primitives, a mid century, spiritualist folk style. Then there were some lyrical themes, juxtapositions of thoughts I was having. This image of a devil creeping into your home, at its own will, whenever it pleases, through a catflap. A kind of metaphor for depression, bad thoughts, frustration. Then the light that is formed when those thoughts of gone, self assurance, love & comfort. That strange instantaneous juxtaposition of mood, It’s what makes us alive.”
