Jesse Davidson takes flight on ‘Algorithm’

Aussie singer Jesse Davidson made quite a splash with last year’s ‘Lizard Boy’ EP, a collection full of intricate, worming pop songs, and anchored by huge single ‘Lagoon’. Its follow-up, new single ‘Algorithm’, takes the significant ambition of ‘Lizard Boy’ and aims even further towards the stars. A slowly strummed acoustic guitar gives way to a shoegaze-indebted wall of reverb that returns again later in the song with even more urgency and power. As far as next steps go, Davidson’s new single shows him as a singer with no limits or inhibitions - ‘Algorithm’ leaves nothing to chance, and is all the more thrilling for it. The singer is set to play a London show at the Shacklewell Arms tomorrow night (4th April) as part of an Aussie showcase, also featuring Lou Matthews and Joel Sarakula.
