Johnny Marr announces new album, ‘Call The Comet’

He’s also shared new single, ‘The Tracers’.

Top indie legend and former Crib Johnny Marr has announced details of a new album.

‘Call The Comet’ is Johnny’s third solo album, following 2013’s ‘The Messenger’ and ‘Playland’, released in 2014. It’s out on 15th June.

“Call The Comet’ is my own magic realism,” he says. “It’s set in the not-too-distant future and is mostly concerned with the idea of an alternative society. The characters in the songs are searching for a new idealism, although there are some personal songs in there too. It’s something that people like me can relate to.”

The track listing is:

Rise
The Tracers
Hey Angel
Hi Hello
New Dominions
Day In Day Out
Walk Into The Sea
Bug
Actor Attractor
Spiral Cities
My Eternal
A Different Gun

He’s also got a handful of European tour dates lined up next month.
