Johnny Marr and Maxine Peake share a video for ‘The Priest’
It’s from an upcoming spoken-word album.
Looks like Johnny Marr’s been working with actress Maxine Peake!
Yep, the pair are reportedly working on a new spoken-word album. In an interview with The Guardian, Johnny said that the record would focus on “what it feels like to live in the UK right now”. According to the article, Johnny also says that the album might materialise “midway through 2018” and that a theatrical element might be involved.
Before the release, the pair have shared a video and new track, ‘The Priest’. The clip itself has been co-directed by Johnny, stars Molly Windsor of ‘Three Girls’ (in which Maxine also starred) and is set in the centre of Manchester. In the track itself, Maxine narrates a very vivid portrait of homelessness. As reported by The Guardian’s article, the words themselves were originally written by a man from Edinburgh.
