Jon Hopkins to score new ‘Hamlet’ production, starring Benedict Cumberbatch
Producer is soundtracking the London Barbican production.
Current DIY indie dreamboat Jon Hopkins has announced plans to provide music for a new production of Shakespeare play ‘Hamlet’, with Benedict Cumberbatch starring in a lead role.
With the play launching from 5th August at London Barbican, the producer hasn’t specified whether he’ll be providing new music, or existing tracks. He shared the news on Twitter over the Easter weekend.
Hopkins plays his biggest show to date at London’s Brixton Academy on Friday 24th April. He’s recently been taking over Radio 1 for Residency shows - on his latest, he debuted new music from Jamie xx and Empress Of.
Jon Hopkins will play Latitude (16th-19th July), where DIY is an official media partner. Tickets are on sale now. Visit diymag.com/presents for more information.
