JONES unveils new ‘You’ single, produced by Jai Paul’s brother
Second track to emerge from the London newcomer strikes gold.
Talk around JONES’ second track to date - the up-close ‘You’ - is bound to surround a production credit from A. K. Paul, brother of King of Mystery Jai Paul. He’s previously lent a hand to a NAO track earlier this year, adding an under-ether shade to straight-up pop.
But ‘You’ is all about JONES, a vocal performance that outshadows all the fancy - and worthwhile - tricks rumbling around at the back.
The song follows up ‘Deep’, which was mixed by XL’s in-house producer Rodaidh McDonald. Big names, but JONES is bit-by-bit paving the way to becoming a massive deal of her own making.
Watch the Jack Davison-directed video for ‘You’ below.
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
