Kacey Musgraves announces sixth album ‘Middle Of Nowhere’ with new single ‘Dry Spell’

Country queen Kacey Musgraves is back with the news that her next studio album will be entitled ‘Middle Of Nowhere’, and is slated for release on 1st May 2026 via Polydor Records/Lost Highway. 

The follow-up to her 2024 outing ‘Deeper Well’, the record was produced by Kacey alongside longtime collaborators Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, and is firmly rooted in an irrefutable sense of place - namely, the culture and characters of her native Texas. The LP’s title, in fact, was inspired by a genuine sign in Kacey’s tiny hometown of Golden: “Golden, TX: Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere”.

“The bulk of this record was made during the longest single period of my life”, the singer-songwriter has reflected, “and I found that for the first time, it actually felt incredible being alone and existing in a space not defined by anyone else. 

I became fascinated with the concept of liminal space, both geographical and emotional. We don’t linger in these transitional, empty spaces long enough and rush to define where or whatever is next. I became so at ease with being in the “middle of nowhere” in many senses and sitting in the un-comfort of the undefined.”
