Kendrick Lamar airs new ‘King Kunta’ video

Kendrick Lamar is airing a new video for his ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ highlight, ‘King Kunta’.

The new clip - directed by X - sees Kendrick returning to hometown Compton, being given the keys to the city. Performing on top of the Swap Meet, the ‘good kid’ heads back to the ‘m.a.a.d city’.

Yesterday, news emerged that Kendrick Lamar was originally going to pay homage to Tupac by naming his album ‘Tu Pump A Caterpillar’. “[‘Tu Pimp A Caterpillar’] that was the original name and they caught it because the abbreviation was Tupac, Tu-P-A-C. … Me changing it to Butterfly, I just really wanted to show the brightness of life and the word “pimp” has so much aggression, and that represents several things. For me, it represents using my celebrity for good. Another reason is, not being pimped by the industry through my celebrity,” he told MTV.
