Kendrick Lamar records ‘King Kunta’ video in Compton
Behind-the-scenes footage emerges of the shoot at the Compton Swap Meet
Footage of Kendrick Lamar shooting a video for ‘King Kunta’ has emerged online, one week after the release of his new album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’. ‘King Kunta’ will be the third single taken from the album, following 2014’s ‘i’ and February’s politically-charged ‘The Blacker The Berry’.
Complex report a video for Lamar’s next single was shot at the Compton Swap Meet on Wednesday 25th March, filmed by Director X. Fan footage shows the rapper on top of a building, gathered a dancing crowd in the car park below him. Earlier in the week, Kendrick Lamar surprised fans with an impromptu performance on top of a moving truck down Sunset Strip.
