Kendrick Lamar performs ‘King Kunta’ live for the first time
‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ cuts ‘The Blacker The Berry’ and ‘Hood Politics’ were also showcased at New Jersey gig.
Kendrick Lamar played ‘King Kunta’ live for the first time this week after a fan requested the song at a gig in New Jersey.
Lamar was playing the Summer Jam event, and also showcased other tracks from his latest album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ including ‘Hood Politics’ and ‘The Blacker The Berry’.
The rapper is set to bring his new album to Europe for the first time next month, with his summer of festivals beginning at Wireless in London and Roskilde in Denmark over the weekend of 3rd-5th July.
Lamar’s busy year so far hasn’t all revolved around ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ though - he’s also somehow managed to create his own salad and be awarded California state’s Generational Icon award.
The rapper ends his summer at Reading and Leeds festivals in August.
