Going backwards Kendrick Lamar is plotting a collector’s edition of ‘DAMN.’
… And the tracklisting is reversed!
So back in August, Kendrick Lamar had a little chat with MTV News, where he claimed that ‘DAMN.’ was actually better when you played it backwards.
Speaking at the time, he said: “I think like a week after the album came out, [fans] realized you can play the album backwards. It plays as a full story and even a better rhythm. It’s one of my favorite rhythms and tempos within the album. It’s something that we definitely premeditate while we’re in the studio”.
Now it looks like Kendrick has a collector’s edition of ‘DAMN.’ in the works… where the tracklisting is reversed! As reported by Pitchfork, a listing on Microsoft’s online music marketplace featured the new edition of the record, which featured a brand new cover as well as the new track order. Looks like you’ll be able to listen to ‘DUCKWORTH.’ through to ‘BLOOD.’ without creating a custom playlist after all then…
