Killer new LP details
Killer Mike and EL-P reveal further Run The Jewels album details, announce tour
The duo have revealed artwork for ‘RTJ2’, along with two more guest artists.
Killer Mike and EL-P teamed up last year to release one of 2013’s most dynamic collaborations, under their joint guise Run The Jewels. Since airing a couple of instagram teasers, along with photographic evidence of Rage Against The Machine’s Zac de la Rocha in the studio, along with Travis Barker of Blink 182, it’s been clear that a follow-up was in the works. Run the Jewels released the first preview - wonky, squelching rap-romp ‘Blockbuster Night Part 1’ - in August, and they’ve confirmed that ‘RTJ2’, the pair’s second album, will be out on October 28th on Nas’ imprint Mass Appeal.
Revealing further details today, EL-P and Killer Mike have shared the album artwork, a mummified, red-hued continuation of the first cover. They have also announced that in addition to Travis Barker and Zac de la Rocha, Diane Coffee (Foxygen’s drummer Shaun Fleming) and Beyonce-collaborator and production maestro BOOTS will both appear as guests. There is also set to be a remix version of ‘RTJ2’ in 2015 via Fools Gold, and on September 15, there’ll be a new Run The Jewels track released on Adult Swim Singles Series.
As if this wasn’t overwhelming enough, Run The Jewels also announced a tracklisting, and a tour with Joey Bada$$, Despot, and Ratking. You can find both of these below, as well as a stream of ‘Blockbuster Night Part 1’.
