King Princess announces new album ‘Girl Violence’, shares lead single ‘RIP KP’
Mikaela Straus will follow up 2022’s ‘Hold On Baby’ with her third full-length this September.

Almost three years on from the release of her last album, King Princess has shared details of her forthcoming third album ‘Girl Violence’.
Marking a new era for the New York multi-hyphenate star - it’ll be her first release from her new label home of section1 - her third full-length is set for release on 12th September, and is - according to the press release “the sound of Straus picking up the pieces after her world fell apart”. The album saw her collaborate with Jake Portrait (Lil Yachty, Alex G, Unknown Mortal Orchestra) and Aire Atlantica (breakthrough: SZA’s ‘Low’), and is set to be thirteen tracks in length.
Alongside new of her newest project, Mikaela has also shared its lead single, ‘RIP KP’, an offering “about the sexy side of girl violence - when love takes over your brain like a cordyceps and suddenly you’re getting fucked all over your house, acting a fool,” she explains. “It’s the perfect way to open the record: dramatic, unhinged, and a little tongue-in-cheek. I wrote it during a full ego death - leaving LA, my label, my old life - and somehow landed back in NYC making the music I would’ve obsessed over at 15. It’s a slutty anthem for the lesbians. We need debauchery this summer.”
Currently starring in the latest series of Nicole Kidman-starring drama Nine Perfect Strangers, Mikaela will also be heading out on a huge tour of North America and Europe in support of her new record later this year.
