King Princess reveals new single ‘Cheap Queen’
She’ll also make her UK festival debut at Glastonbury next month.
Following a pretty mega 2018, King Princess is here once more with ‘Cheap Queen’ and ready to take 2019 by storm.
Gearing up for her debut UK festival performance next month at Glastonbury (what a place to start!), ‘Cheap Queen’ is the first taster from her forthcoming debut album.
Before taking on Glastonbury however, she’ll be headlining London’s Kentish Town Forum on June 26th, a show that was originally meant to be at Heaven before selling out in just half an hour and consequently being upgraded.
King Princess is one of the most exciting and progressive acts around today, proven in the release of her debut EP ‘Make My Bed’. King Princess also appears in DIY’s Class Of 2019. “I think the biggest lesson to understand is that business is savage and [you need] to surround yourself with people that take your experience in the industry seriously,” Mikaela told us.
“So many bands would make amazing records in my dad’s studio that would never come out. They wanted to put their fucking music out, but somebody said no. It’s just so stupid. Listen to yourself, listen to the people you love, don’t listen to people that think that you’re this XYZ [commodity] that’ll be profitable.”
