Not content with releasing one of the year’s biggest albums - seventh LP ‘MAYHEM’, obvs - Lady Gaga has now treated us to an early Halloween banger in the form of new track ‘The Dead Dance’.

Just like her latest record, the single is an all-out instant classic that calls back to the pulsing synth-pop of Gaga’s earliest days, while also incorporating an irresistible disco bassline. Fans of Netflix series Wednesday are in for a treat, too - the song features on the soundtrack for Season 2 (Part 2), while Gaga herself even makes a sneaky cameo as Rosaline Rotwood.

What’s more, the much-anticipated official video for ‘The Dead Dance’ is just as conceptually creepy and choreo-heavy as we hoped: shot at Mexico’s Isla de las Muñecas, it sees Gaga team up with legendary filmmaker Tim Burton to bring the location’s infamous dolls truly to life.

“The inspiration for ‘The Dead Dance’ was a breakup, and it was all about the way that we sometimes feel when it’s over; how a relationship ending can kill our ability to feel hopeful about love,” Gaga has shared. “It’s got this really cool, funky beat underneath it. And that is when the song becomes not just about the relationship; it becomes about having fun with your friends when you’ve been through something tough and amazing.”
