The ‘ARTPOP’ star revealed the news on her Instagram account yesterday.

Lady Gaga has announced that she will perform at this year’s Oscars ceremony, which is due to take place on 22nd February.
The news came yesterday when the ‘ARTPOP’ star herself took to her Instagram account to post a short clip detailing some info about her appearance. Her post read “I’m performing live at the OSCARS this year!” while Deadline.com have reported that she will be involved in “a special tribute performance.”
The website then went on to quote a press release from the ceremony’s producers Craig Zadan andNeil Meron. “Lady Gaga is a once-in-a-lifetime artist whose musical evolution keeps growing,” the producers said. “We are proud to have her perform on the Oscars for the very first time.”
Zadan also took to his own Twitter account to confirm the news, writing “BREAKING NEWS: Welcome @ladygaga to Dolby stage to appear on the #Oscars for a very special performance. It’s been a joy working you, Gaga!”
Her performance at the Oscars - which are to be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris - follows on from her appearance at this year’s Grammys, where she performed along collaborator Tony Bennett. Check out their performance below.
