The Garden unveil ‘This Could Build Us a Home’ track
California twins are backing up early hype with a dazzling, intentionally disjointed new cut.
Wyatt and Fletcher Shears aka The Garden have spent the bulk of 2014 glamouring and glitzing their way into consciousness with head-turning SXSW performances and a run of promising early tracks. They’re strange, complex beings making pure, dazzling pop tracks, and this December sees the release of their new ‘Surprise’ single via Luv Luv Luv Records.
Linking up with ‘Surprise’ is ‘This Could Build Us a Home’, a momentum-building number that comes off like a cross between a fast-paced speedway chase and a toddler’s birthday party. There’s a playful goofiness to The Garden’s theatrical take on pop, simple guitar lines clashing heads with sparkling, irresistibly catchy synth melodies. “We’re running out of time,” they collectively claim, and there’s reason to render this the blitzing home stretch of a brilliant year, with 2015 promising plenty.
DIY’s premiering ‘This Could Build Us a Home’, below. The ‘Surprise’ single is out 8th December on Luv Luv Luv Records.
Next month sees The Garden playing three UK dates, including a single launch. Next March, they’re the main support for Warpaint’s UK tour.

Sadistically teasing all essences of musical genres into a 17 track debut, ‘Haha’ has more than its fair share of insanity.
