West Coast shapeshifters The Garden reinvent with ‘Call This # Now’

California twins are following up batshit debut ‘Haha’ with another strange turn.

Under their The Garden moniker, Wyatt and Fletcher Shears appear to have license to do just about anything.

Last year’s wide-spanning, deranged pop full-length ‘Haha’ set their stall as creatives who’d prefer to spit fire than create something cohesive. And this year they’re releasing a new batch of hyperactive, shape-shifting songs, just for the hell of it.

‘Call This # Now’ darts between whistle-backed lounge and ferocious, Death Grips-nodding 100mph angst. The track stems from “feelings of trickery and aggression,” claim the duo. “The song came about in the midst of a personal battle of sorts that we were dealing with in our personal lives. The lyrics are based off of false accusations, misjudgment and an overall distrust and disgust with how things were going. ‘Call This # Now!’ is sleazy and masked. Just like life can be.”

Next month, The Garden arrive in the UK & Ireland for a headline tour. See dates above our first play of ‘Call This # Now’.
