Laufey unveils scenic video for gut-punch new single ‘Snow White’
The powerful visualiser was shot on location in her native Iceland.
Ahead of the arrival of her forthcoming album ‘A Matter Of Time’ (out on 22nd August via Vingolf Recordings / AWAL), Laufey has shared its latest single ‘Snow White’, a deeply moving exploration of the impossible standards women are constantly held to.
Speaking about the starkly honest track, the Icelandic-Chinese composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist has explained that “’Snow White’ is about the never ending chase for perfection that comes with being a woman. It’s about looking in the mirror and seeing all the ways in which you can improve yourself.”
Alongside the new song - which follows ‘Lover Girl’, ‘Silver Lining’, and ‘Tough Luck’ to be the fourth single lifted from the record - Laufey has also dropped an accompanying video, for which she teamed up with her twin sister and creative director Junia Lin to shoot in the scenic landscapes of their homeland.
