Laufey unveils all-star video for recent cut ‘Madwoman’
She’s joined by a crack team of Asian and Asian American icons in the sun-soaked visualiser, including Heated Rivalry’s Hudson Williams.
Hot on the heels of making her glittering full-set Coachella debut this weekend, Laufey has now dropped a glamorous yet playful new video for ‘Madwoman’, one of the four new tracks to feature on the deluxe version of her GRAMMY-winning latest album ‘A Matter Of Time’.
Landing somewhere between Austin Powers, High School Musical 2, and a ’60s fever dream, the visualiser features appearances from an array of Asian and Asian American stars which, the genre-defying artist says, “is exactly what younger Laufey would have loved to see.”
Continuing, she explains: “Growing up, I felt a general lack of representation for people who looked like me in music and media. With the ‘Madwoman’ video, I wanted to be that representation.”
In the Slim Aarons-inspired video, Laufey is joined by breakout Heated Rivalry name Hudson Williams, Olympic champion Alysa Liu, The Summer I Turned Pretty actor Lola Tung, KATSEYE’s Megan Skiendiel. Phew! Check it out for yourself here:
