Laurie Vincent's Big Truck shares debut single 'Central Reservation Blues'

Not content with his bandmate releasing a new solo album next month, SOFT PLAY’s Laurie Vincent has revealed the debut single from his new musical project, Big Truck

The quartet - completed by drummer Sam Coppins, guitarist Asa Thallon and drummer Justin Myles - marks a distinct departure from the work of Laurie’s day job, instead channelling the group’s influences in The Cure, The Smiths, The War On Drugs and The Breeders. Today’s debut single  ’Central Reservation Blues’ - which is out via Marshall Records now - follows suit, and is a more Americana-leaning offering that manages to feel intimate and epic all at once.

Speaking of the inspiration behind the track, Laurie has said: “I missed my partner’s birthday and my son’s birthday when I was in America. I’m no good at numbers and I tend to miss those details when we’ve got a big touring operation and things are booked a year in advance. Those birthdays I missed will be remembered forever, whereas I can’t even remember those gigs that I played.”

The track lands ahead of a busy live schedule, which includes shows at The Great Escape, and 2000tress festivals. Check out ‘Central Reservation Blues’ below, and find their upcoming shows underneath the player.
