Listen back to Raury’s session for BBC Maida Vale
Watch the Atlantan perform ‘Cigarette Song’ for Huw Stephens.
Last night, BBC Sound of 2015 nominee Raury checked in with Huw Stephens to perform a half-hour long session in Maida Vale.
Checking in to play ‘Cigarette Song’, he also performed a track initially penned when he was just fourteen.
Speaking to Huw, he detailed various aspects of his ‘Indigo Child’ project, including samples on the record that feature Raury arguing with his Mom. “She was actually really cool. I put that into the project to make it a lot more personal, and also show I’m not different from you. I’m just another human being. We all go through that same struggle.”
The session and interview is available to listen below, and you can also watch him performing ‘Cigarette Song’.
