Listen: CHVRCHES Stream ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’ Bauhaus Cover
New track appears on the soundtrack to ‘Vampire Academy’.
14th February sees the ‘Vampire Academy’ series getting translated to the big screen, bringing with it an exciting soundtrack that features CHVRCHES.
The Scottish trio and former DIY cover stars have taken on Bauhaus’ ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’, in a song that appears on the end credits of the Mark Waters-directed film. CHVRCHES’ contribution is the only original track to feature on the soundtrack, but the soundtrack also features contributions from Katy Perry, Sky Ferreira, Iggy Azalea and Bear in Heaven.
‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’, then, is essentially given the full CHVRCHES treatment; tense nightwave synths, sinister vocals by way of Lauren Mayberry, and some gadget-infused wizardry.
