Back with their first new music of 2020, Lazy Day have revealed anthemic newbie ‘All The Time’!
“I wrote ‘All the Time’ a few years ago, when I was feeling really frustrated at how difficult I was finding it to shake off all the things that were getting me down,” songwriter Tilly Scantlebury explains. “The lyrics flit between these feelings of resentment and defeat, but I wanted the song as a whole to sound really defiant. Writing and performing ‘All the Time’ allowed me to regain some sort of control over what was happening in my life, instead of freaking out about all the things I felt like I was losing.
“We’ve been playing the song as a band for a couple of years, and over time it has become a moment in our live show where I feel really powerful, like each time we play it I can overcome something big all over again,” she continues. “I really wanted to capture that energy and strength in the recording. We tracked it at the amazing Church Studios with the coolest team of people, and the whole process ended up giving the song a new life. It morphed into something so much more joyful than I could have ever hoped or imagined when I wrote it all those years ago.”
