Listen: Lily Allen Returns For John Lewis Advert, Covers Keane

has made her singing return by appearing on the new John Lewis Christmas advert extravaganza. For those of you outside the UK, this is basically the equivalent of implanting a song in people’s ears for the 30-40 days leading up to Christmas. It’s usually/always a piano ballad of some kind & a cover.

This time round, Allen’s taken on a song by the lovely Keane, a band famed for their celebrity fans, including George Osbourne. Lily’s cover of ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ is set to a cuddly animal tale of a rabbit attempting to befriend a bear. Lots of birds and foxes celebrate Christmas, foolishly ignoring the rules of the food chain.
