Listen: S. Carey Announces ‘Range Of Light’ Album, Streams ‘Fire-Scene’
Listen to a gorgeous, sweeping lead track from S. Carey’s new LP on Jagjaguwar.
S. Carey possesses one of the voices that echoes from side to side on Bon Iver’s breakthrough record ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’. It’s been several years since then, though. Real name Sean Carey, the guitarist has released his ‘All We Grow’ debut (back in 2010), following it up with the ‘Hoyas’ EP. He’s returned with news of ‘Range of Light’, his second album, due for release on Jagjaguwar.
The record’s led by Carey’s now routine soft acoustics, sweet piano lines sewing up ‘Fire-scene’ into one neat piece. What’s most impressive is the percussion, which essentially sounds like a muffled microphone somehow coining a beat.
‘Fire-scene’ arrives alongside lyrics (viewable here) and a pre-order of the new record, here. ‘Range of Light’ is released on 31st March 2014.
