Listen: Sharon Van Etten Unveils ‘Every Time The Sun Comes Up’ Track

Hear SVE sort of admit to being a vampire in a take from ‘Are We There’.

It’s impressive how - in a cycle of songs coming and going, being replaced by the next fixation - Sharon Van Etten’sTaking Chances’ has stayed resolute as a brilliant preview of new album ‘Are We There’. The track’s existed for a couple of months without a follow-up, and still anticipation’s rife for the follow-up to ‘Tramp’. That might sound hideously over-appreciative, but the next big thing’s always waiting for an even bigger beast to turn round the corner.

Sharon’s shared a second cut from the record today with ‘Every Time The Sun Comes Up’, a strung-out number that suits lazy days on a field or the final shreds of a long night up. Van Etten attests to be in trouble every time that giant orange ball decides to arrive, and even these vampiric admissions sound positively drenched in sadness.

‘Are We There’ is out 26th May. Flick through a copy of the new DIY to read an interview with Sharon Van Etten.
