Following the release of Beck’s 14th studio album ‘Hyperspace’ back in November, St. Vincent has given us a spicy new remix of album cut ‘Uneventful Days’. Thanks, bbs!
Speaking on the remix, she says: “I remixed Beck’s new song, ‘Uneventful Days!’ I guess I was listening to a lot of ’70s Herbie and WAR at the time and wondering how much funk was inside me, too. I sent it to Beck and he dug it, but he said ‘it should be 3 bpm faster.’ And what do you know? HE WAS SO RIGHT. It made all the difference in the groove.”
The funk-filled remix comes after the pair performed together with the surviving members of Nirvana for The Art of Elysium’s Heaven is Rock and Roll gala, and St. Vincent and Beck will reunite again for “Let’s Go Crazy: The GRAMMY® Salute to Prince” on 28th January.
Have a listen to the new track below and catch up on our review of Beck’s ‘Hyperspace’ here.
