Listen to a preview of Run The Jewels’ ‘Meow The Jewels’
El-P shares the cat remix of ’Jeopardy’ on Instagram.
Run The Jewels will release ‘Meow The Jewels’ - an remix album of cat sounds and beats - this year, which follows last year’s ‘Run The Jewels 2’. This weekend EL-P shared three previews of the opening track ‘Jeopardy’ on his Instagram feed, featuring Lil Bub.
The project was originally conceived as a joke by Run The Jewels but fervent fans arranged a Kickstarter late last year to make the album see if run far beyond that. After reaching the target and “cat auditions”, EL-P agreed to make it, with proceeds of the album going to charity.
Portishead’s Geoff Barrow, Zola Jesus and plenty other special guests are set to feature on ‘Meow the Jewels’.
All three previews of ‘Jeopardy’ are available to hear on El-P’s Instagram feed. The final preview features the track alongside Killer Mike’s opening verse. Watch the trailer for ‘Meow The Jewels’ below.
