Listen To James Murphy’s Remix Of David Bowie, ‘Love Is Lost’
Murphy’s ode to Bowie comes in the form of a ten minute mix that in-part recreates ‘Ashes To Ashes’.
James Murphy’s already-announced ”Hello Steve Reich Mix’ has just been given its first play on BBC 6 Music, alongside a quick interview about the remix itself and how he tried to ‘serve the vocal’ and ‘recontextualise’ the whole thing.
Murphy recreates the piano sound in ‘Ashes To Ashes’ for the ten-minute epic.
The track appears on Bowie’s ‘The Next Day Extra’, which comes out on 4th November (pre-order). Meanwhile, Bowie’s own ‘The Next Day’ is currently 3rd favourite to win this year’s Mercury Prize, with odds of 9/2.
