In Residency
Listen to St. Vincent, Neneh Cherry and Alison Goldfrapp’s 6 Music ‘Three Wise Women’ shows
Originally aired around Christmas, 2014 stars took over the airwaves.

From Christmas Eve onwards, BBC Radio 6 Music handed its schedule over to some of the stars of 2014, branched under the name the ‘Three Wise Women’. Annie Clark aka St. Vincent, Alison Goldfrapp and Neneh Cherry all had a hand at taking over the airwaves, sitting in for two hour residencies where they showcased choices of their own alongside picks from the station’s archive.
St. Vincent’s show - aired on Christmas Eve - saw her picking her favourite track of 2014 (Perfume Genius’ ‘Queen’) as well as music from Nick Cave, Iggy Pop and Talking Heads. She also says that Mike Hadreas’ “no family is safe, when I sashay” stands out as her favourite lyric of 2014.
Neneh Cherry’s takeover took place on Christmas Day, where she showcased music from Frank Ocean, Flying Lotus, Burial and Four Tet.
Alison Goldfrapp’s session from Boxing Day saw her picking archive selections from The First Time With David Lynch and live performances from Air, Leonard Cohen and Radiohead’s Glastonbury headline set from 1997.
