Listen: Trudie Dawn Smith Unveils ‘No Pop’ Single
Playful new single is Trudie’s first, due out on Ninja Tune offshoot STAC Records.

Back in April 2012, Trudie Dawn Smith picked up a Neu profile
based on a song called ‘Mother’s Word’, which at the time we compared to Beach House. That song’s since been deleted off the face of the earth, with its replacement emerging 2 years on in the form of ‘No Pop’. The line-up’s since expanded to consist of both Trudie and drummer Tom Skinner.
The track’s coming out via Ninja Tune offshoot STAC (Strange Things Are Coming) on 12th March. It begins with ambient howls, both vocal and instrumental, before settling into a playful groove of detuned pianos and a voice that swerves focus but commands attention all at once.
Festival special! Featuring Wolf Alice, Kasabian, Lykke Li, Marmozets, Genesis Owusu and more.
