Listen: Xiu Xiu Unveil ‘Lawrence Liquors’ Track

To call Xiu Xiu’s music ‘easy listening’ would be like heaping praise on Charles Saatchi for being a ‘nice bloke.’

New album from Jamie Stewart, ‘Angel Guts: Red Classroom’, is named after and conceptualised around a Japanese porn film (a critically acclaimed one at that), which isn’t going to make it a sudden, twee turn from the band in anyone’s estimations.

The record’s lead track was - in comparison to the rest of the LP - fairly easygoing, putting at least a smidgen of melody at the forefront. New track ‘Lawrence Liquors’ is pretty much the sound of Jamie Stewart having a fight with an army of laser-shooting robots and losing. It’s industrial hatred in its purest, most dazzling form.
