Xiu Xiu get stuck in an animated nightmare in their ‘Jenny GoGo’ video
It’s the latest single to be taken from their new album ‘FORGET’.
Hopefully it hasn’t slipped your mind that experimental noise-mongers Xiu Xiu are releasing their new, pop-inspired album ‘FORGET’ on 24th February.
If it has, then they’ve returned with their single ‘Jenny GoGo’ to give you a bit of a reminder. And by reminder we mean a big old smack in the face with haunting electronic reverberations and an equally spooky video courtesy of Viktor Belozerov.
Across a background of static, the clip depicts a number of crudely hand-drawn animated figures representing Jamie Stewart’s lyrics. When Jamie isn’t singing, we’re treated to some rather wobbly dance moves and a pinball machine that won’t stop cashing out. Maybe it’s haunted, because things get very weird and a bit unfriendly to anyone sensitive to flashing lights. You have been warned…
