Liverpool’s The Kazimier to close its doors in 2016
New Year’s Day will host the last ever event in the Liverpool venue.

Liverpool venue The Kazimier is set to close on New Year’s Day 2016.
As reported by Getintothis, plans to redevelop Wolstenholme Square have offered the owners the option to open up a new site. “This gives us nine months of events to celebrate the life of the venue and provide a fitting end,” the venue says, in an official statement.
The statement adds: “We could never have envisioned the warmth of feeling The Kazimier Club has created since opening its doors 7 years ago, nor could we have envisioned it surviving for as long as it has, but true to its original ethos we believe it needs to finish on a high, in the same bricks and mortar as its birth… As this chapter has drawn to a close, we want to make it clear that this is the end of a building – the original artistic core and the wider Kazimier team are moving forwards with a variety of new projects in various new spaces.”
Wolstenholme Square redevelopment plans involve the creation of 370 apartments. Liam Naughton from The Kazimier has voiced his support, saying: “The Kazimier will not be moving into a new site offered within the development, however, talks are in progress with Elliot Group about a team of interested parties from the Kazimier staff and collaborators taking on this opportunity.”
