London set to host Jabberwocky Fallout gigs this weekend

Earlier today, ATP Presents announced the cancellation of Jabberwocky Festival three days ahead of its previously scheduled 15th/16th August billing.

Citing insufficient ticket sales and the fact that Jabberwocky going ahead would “have 100% been the end of ATP” financially, a statement from Barry Hogan apologised to “all the people we have let down from fans to the bands”.

Only a few hours after its confirmed cancellation, promoters and bands appear to have joined forces to put on a series of impromptu shows across the capital in Jabberwocky’s absence.

A Facebook page titled Jabberwocky Fall Out Rumours (which is in no way affiliated with ATP) has been started up, with the intention to “all put on a load of gigs and coordinate them so we all get to have a nice time.”

The plan is to put on a run of shows across the weekend. The Facebook page is constantly being updated - currently Chelsea Wolfe has announced plans to play a last-minute gig with Deafheaven on Friday 15th, and organisers at London venue The Lexington have confirmed that they’re asking Liars to fill a space.

DIY is delighted to be bringing you one of these gigs, with Cloud Nothings (pictured), Hookworms and Speedy Ortiz all playing the 100 Club.

After a string of shows being announced, The Van Pelt had to pull out of a show because of contractual obligations with ATP.
