M.I.A. releases ‘Matahdatah Scroll 01 Broader Than a Border’

M.I.A. has released her new audiovisual project, ‘Matahdatah Scroll 01 Broader Than a Border’.

The releases consists of two songs, ‘Warriors’ (from ‘Matangi’) and a new cut, ‘Swords’. It’s available exclusively on Apple Music, arriving in the form of a short film. The new track consists of sword-clashing samples and M.I.A. chanting the chorus “hands up if you hear a knock on the door.” The short film was filmed in West Africa and India.

This is the latest exclusive to launch on the service, following Drake’s ‘Energy’ video and Pharrell’s big ‘Freedom’ single.
