Mac DeMarco gets ambushed by samurai on The Eric André Show
Mac’s live performance is interrupted in the name of comedy.
Over the weekend, Mac DeMarco called into The Eric André Show to perform ‘Still Together’, a cut from his second album ‘2’. But what seemed like a routine TV spot soon took a turn for the weird.
Seconds into the song, the singer became the victim of an ambush. After the host proclaimed that it was time to ‘Attack DeMarco’, a flock of stick-wielding samurai appeared and violently disrupted the performance, destroying instruments and dragging DeMarco to his knees.
Extremely reminiscent of his own surreal and provocative videos, the segment ended with the ‘Passing Out Pieces’ singer’s head being introduced repeatedly to the backside of a naked man.
Earlier this year, Mac DeMarco released his third album ‘Salad Days’ and has recently completed a small tour of the UK. Read our review of his London show here and watch his The Eric André Show performance below.
Third album ‘Salad Days’ is out now on Captured Tracks.
