Want to perform at Mad Cool Festival this summer? Here’s how you can win the chance to play

Musicians of the UK, listen up! Do you want to grace the stage at Madrid’s Mad Cool Festival this year, joining a world-class raft of stars including The Cure, Vampire Weekend, The 1975, Smashing Pumpkins, The National, Iggy Pop and literally oodles more? Well, then keep reading…

For the first time, Mad Cool are extending their annual new artist search and setting up a special Mad Cool Talent UK division.

Joining the successful winners from around the world, two lucky UK artists, selected by an esteemed panel of judges from yours truly DIY and our pals at NME, will then get the chance to play either at the festival itself (11th - 13th July), or at the massive welcome party on the 10th, featuring Bring Me The Horizon, Metronomy, Rosalia and more.

To be in with a chance, all you need to do is head to madcooltalent.com, upload one original song and tell us a bit about your music.

Registration kicks off tomorrow (Tuesday 30th April) at 11am, and closes at midnight on Sunday 12th May.

Then the 50 top artists, as selected by DIY and NME, will go through to a public vote, with the eventual two winners revealed on 19th June.
