There may be no actual awards for naming your album, but if there were, then Marnie Stern is clearly putting in an early claim for the 2013 prize.
Stern has announced that her new record, which will be released on March 19th, is to be called ‘Chronicles of Marnia’. This is the first record that Marnie has recorded without longtime collaborator and drummer, Zach Hill, after he decamped to join Death Grips, and speaking to Spin, Stern claimed that the record will be ‘less nutso’, saying; ‘This time, I was trying to focus on songwriting. Not guitar playing.’
Famed for her guitar work, Stern also shared new track, ‘Year Of The Glad’, which you can hear below.
