Mellah shares moving video for ‘Numb’

The video was directed by Mellah’s Liam Ramsden himself.

Mellah has shared the video for ‘Numb’ from his latest EP ‘Middle England’ and it’s a bit of an emotional one.

The video, which was self-directed by Mellah’s Liam Ramsden himself, makes clever use of a thermal camera. Liam says of the video: “Numb is about feeling disenfranchised and marginalised from society and its norms. Norms that dictate from birth how we view ourselves and our contemporaries and who we look up or down to.”

He also said: “It’s also about feeling numb in the face of injustice, when you feel helpless to change it, and worse when you know that your standing in the world is likely a part of the reason that the injustice exists in the first place. I wanted to make a video that was sensory and tactile. We shot it all really close on a thermal imaging camera to try and convey the sense of touch. It was great fun to shoot, I even had a rather large snake around my neck at one point. You can see it in there if you watch closely.” You can watch the video below.

Mellah is also heading out on a short tour in September and October. See the dates below.

21 Unterholz Am Oberbaum, Berlin
