Mercury Prize 2011: Event Details Unveiled

This year’s Mercury Music Prize event will see all 12 shortlisted artists perform for the first time ever, will some making special trips to the UK in order to attend the show.

The shortlisted albums and nominees are:
Adele - 21
Anna Calvi - Anna Calvi
Elbow - Build a Rocket Boys!
Everything Everything - Man Alive
Ghostpoet - Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam
Gwilym Simcock - Good Days at Schloss Elmau
James Blake - James Blake
Katy B - On a Mission
King Creosote & Jon Hopkins - Diamond Mine
Metronomy - The English Riviera
PJ Harvey - Let England Shake
Tinie Tempah - Disc-Overy

Both Elbow & PJ Harvey have scooped the award before, with no previous winners having claimed the title more than once to date.

The awards will take place on Tuesday 6th September in London, hosted by Jools Holland with Lauren Laverne presenting for the BBC and Steve Lamacq holding the fort at BBC 6Music.
