Mister Lies confirms new album, streams ‘Deepend’ track
Nick Zanca’s morphed into an emotive vocalist on his latest effort, taken from ‘Shadow’.
Nick Zanca aka Mister Lies has confirmed plans to follow up his promising 2013 debut ‘Mowgli’. ‘Shadow’ is set to come out on Brooklyn label Orchid Tapes (Ricky Eat Acid, Alex G), 28th October in North America, available digitally, via 12” and cassette.
The record’s being led by ‘Deepend’, which is remarkable in that it’s the first prominent example of Zanca taking the lead on vocals. His previous record was steeped in twitching, experimental electronic production. This one’s way more indebted to the organic, with cello and soaring horns filtering through the fog. Zanca’s a passionate vocalist, too, one that holds his own in this skittering environment.
‘Shadow’ is set to feature guest spots from Harrison Lipton and Arrange - it’s available for pre-order here.
