Mock Orange get reflective on ‘Too Good Your Dreams Don’t Come True’

Two decades into their career and the Indiana group still sound as fresh as ever.

It takes a lot for a band to still sound fresh two decades into a career. It’s easy to succumb to the ravages of time; even easier to rest on your laurels and hit autopilot; easier yet still to sack it all off and go work in your local supermarket. Mock Orange suffer no such ills.

On their latest track, ‘Too Good Your Dreams Don’t Come True’, the Indiana group sound as fresh as ever. It’s a slinky, sumptuous slice of Americana-infused emo-rock, up there with the greats of the turn of the century but housing a beating modern heart of gold.

Taken from their new album ‘Put The Kid On The Sleepy Horse’, it’s shining evidence that there’s at least another two decades of youth and vitality under Mock Orange’s mottled skin. ‘Put The Kid On The Sleepy Horse’ is released 20th May via Topshelf Records (pre-order it here) - dive into ‘Too Good your Dreams’ Don’t Come True’ below.
